Jay, in which time zone will these events be occurring?

All events are listed on Pacific time. Thanks for asking.

I really wish you could offer some of the events in Eastern Time. I live on the east coast, and there doesn't seem to be anywhere around here I can attend events that are held in Pacific time.

(They tell me that it has something to do with the fact that these events actually occur three hours in the future, and there is a risk that I might accidentally change the course of events out there by mentioning something that has already happened.)

Have you had any experience with installing any kind of temporal-based firewall system for your show, so that those of us who are in earlier time zones could safely attend?

Of course, I have many clients who are still operating as though it's 1965 in terms of their learning choices, so I can't POSSIBLY invite any of them to participate.

Dick, this is precisely the reason we installed the HG Wells extensions. I am rarely up early enough to do anything on Eastern time. Set your watch ahead three hours, and everything should work out fine.

P.S. I've always suspected the USSR went to hell in a hand basket because they were always in dark.

Hello, again. I notice you have a Tweets page -- very cool. Is there a #hashtag, yet? Might I suggest #learntrends, #learntrends08 or #lti08? #lt08 has already been used for the Learning Technologies 2008 conference. Just a thought...

It's #learntrends. Check the tweets thus far.

Hi Jay,

I am excited to be able to attend this conference and in admiration at your speakers. Wonderful program.

Just one little comment on the actual timing - if you permit.

Morning hours Pacific times (from around 8am to 1pm) correspond to evening hours European Time (5pm - 10pm) and
correspond to early morning hours in Australia (3am - 8am), Tokyo (1am ~) and Beijing (midnight ~).

If you happen to be doing yet another global conference, may I suggest to use the Pacific Time zone from 11am - 3pm?
This way, the Europeans, Australians AND perhaps Asians get a chance to watching this. Just a thought.

I know that recordings too are available, but there are quite a number of online conferences in the States (eg. LearningTimes) that keep ignoring our Australian friends who are ever so fit when it comes to learning technologies. A great bunch of experts down under which tend to be left out.

Again, Heike, thanks (from another Australian). Last year I did make the effort to get up at 3am, but the technology didn't work for me (my much-more-than-me IT-savvy husband was still asleep and couldn't help me!). But I'm not game to lose sleep again - after all, I'm a year older and need the sleep even more! I'll be relying on the recordings.

For those of you from other countries, Australia beat us (England) :-( at Rugby on Saturday so they should still be out celebrating not logging in online at 3:00am!

Absolutely Heike, As someone who was a north hemisphere-ite until 6 years ago, it is amazing how northern hemisphere centric the world is, and US/European centric. So PLEASE sometimes think of those of us in Australasia. We are a great bunch as Heike says. :-))))))

Good suggestion about the time, Heike. I'm in Australia and its often hard to attend these kinds of things. I'll see what I can do, though as it looks like a really good lineup.

Thanks, Rose

I tend to up at all sorts of odd times but even with my strange schedule, I will be pressed to be around for much of this. But I am interested to see what evolves.
Thanks for the good wrap for Aussie ed techs, Heike. :)

Cheers,
